Role of accumulator
(1) When the engine starts, provide a large current to the starter, and supply power to the ignition system, fuel injection system and other electrical equipment of the engine.
(2) When the generator does not work, the battery supplies power to the electrical equipment.
(3) When the generator generates electricity normally, the battery converts the electrical energy of the generator into chemical energy for storage (that is, charging).
(4) When the generator is overloaded, the battery assists the generator to supply power to the electrical equipment.
(5) When the car key is removed, the battery supplies power to the anti-theft system, the engine and other control units, the sound system and the anti-theft alarm system.
(6) The battery can also absorb the instantaneous overvoltage in the circuit, maintain the stability of the voltage of the automotive electrical system, and protect the electronic components.
There are two types of batteries used in automobiles: lead-acid batteries and nickel-alkali batteries. Lead-acid batteries are divided into ordinary batteries, maintenance-free batteries, dry-charged batteries and colloidal batteries, nickel alkali batteries have iron nickel batteries and cadmium nickel batteries. Lead-acid batteries have the characteristics of low price and low internal resistance, and are used in most automobiles. Nickel-alkali batteries have the advantages of large capacity, long service life and simple maintenance, but they are expensive and are currently only used in a few cars.
