Product Description
When one of the four hub bearings of the vehicle is damaged, you will hear a continuous buzzing sound when the vehicle is driving. This sound can't tell where it comes from, and it feels that the whole compartment is full of this buzzing sound, and the faster the speed, the louder the sound. The following is the judgment method:
Method 1: open the window to hear if the sound comes from outside the car;
Method 2: After increasing the speed (when the hum is loud), put the gear in neutral to let the vehicle slide, and observe whether the noise comes from the engine. If the hum does not change when sliding in neutral, it is probably a problem with the wheel bearing;
Method 3: Stop temporarily and get off to check whether the temperature of the axle is normal. The method is as follows: Touch the four wheels with your hands to roughly feel whether their temperatures are consistent (when the gap between brake shoes and pads is normal, the temperature of the front and rear wheels is different, and the front wheels should be higher). If the difference is not great, you can continue to drive slowly to the maintenance station;
Method 4: Use the elevator to lift the car (release the handbrake and put it in neutral before). When there is no elevator, you can lift the wheels one by one with a jack, and the four wheels can be rotated quickly by manpower. When encountering a faulty axle, it will make a sound, which is completely different from other axles. It is easy to tell which axle has a problem with this method.
If there are cracks, pits or ablation on the hub bearing when it is seriously damaged, it must be replaced. Apply grease before installing new bearings, and then reassemble them in the reverse order. The replaced bearings must rotate flexibly without noise and vibration.
